The CCIE lab exam is an eight-hour, hands-on exam which requires you to configure a Cisco enterprise voice solution over an IP network. Although basic network connectivity is provided, you will be responsible for configuring the pre-installed applications to satisfy the requirements of the lab, and to troubleshoot important parameters of a voice network, such as quality of service, VLANs, gateways and gatekeepers.

The Flute Concertos of C.P.E. Bach are among the most dramatic and engrossing of this important composer's works. This Bach was a major influence on Haydn and Mozart, but the music is worth hearing in its own right, and the Concerto in A Minor, which opens this set, is one of the masterpieces of its era. Gallois and the Toronto Camerata use modern instruments, but their performances are permeated by the sensibility of Bach's era. They are clear and forceful, responding beautifully to the pre-romantic elements in the music, and Gallois even adds appropriate embellishments to his playing. The Concerto in D Minor may not be the composer's own arrangement for flute, but it sounds convincing enough. This is certainly the best set of C.P.E. Bach's Flute Concertos since the long-deleted Rampal set for CBS, and the performances are markedly superior to those on a recent Black Box CD.

Not many musicians today can craft a song that moves the heart and stirs the soul like Kevin Cotter's music. Powerfully memorable, both music and lyrics. Worth listening to again and again…that's good cause you will. I highly recommend.

In opera, specific voice types are often associated with certain types of characters. Numerous and diverse associations exist also for the bass voice, who can be a father, a villain, an elderly man, a religious figure, a comic character- or, indeed, a combination of the above. One recurring association for this voice type, however, deserves particular attention: that with evil, wicked, even diabolical characters. It is on that immensely fascinating association that this collection of arias is focused. The nineteen selections- composed by Mozart, Beethoven, Weber, Wagner, Meyerbeer, Berlioz, Gounod, Offenbach, Verdi, Boito, Mussorgsky, Stravinsky and Getty- take us on a journey through a period spanning some two hundred years, exploring how composers working in diverse national and institutional contexts and writing in an array of styles and genres exploited the bass voice to engage with the depiction of such characters.

Rock, Blues, Americana | Country: USA | Label: Kevin Gordon

Louisiana chansonnier and axe wielding patron saint of hopeless causes Kevin Gordon weaves southern gothic tales of lovable losers to the beat of juke joint blues. Tilt and Shine has the wooly headed feel of an opiate high, full of fuzzy electric guitars droning like cicadas in the heat. This album is a day drunk romp with a bard of the swamp. Case in point: opening track “Fire At The End Of The World”. Finally, a song about learning to buy and sell good drugs from your grade school’s drug prevention program (taught by the local police force). Hell, that’s how I learned. I can still remember them burning weed for us so we could identify it’s odor. I thought I was the only one.
