Groundbreaking new Elvis album features 14 original performances of gospel songs with newly-recorded instrumentation and backing vocals featuring legendary Presley alumnae including Darlene Love, Cissy Houston, The Imperials and The Stamps. "Since I was two years old", Elvis Presley once said, "all I knew was gospel music. It became such a part of my life, it was as natural as dancing. A way to escape my problems, and my way of release." It was gospel music that most ferociously stoked his musical passions, even as his unique synthesis of country, popular and rhythm and blues styles made him an idol to millions around the world.

Today it all seems so easy – RCA signs up the kid from Memphis, television gets interested at around the same time, and the rest is history. The circumstances surrounding this album were neither simple nor promising, however, nor was there anything in the history of popular music up to that time to hint that Elvis Presley was going to be anything other than "Steve Sholes' folly," which was what rival executives were already whispering. So a lot was unsettled and untried at the first of two groups of sessions that produced the Elvis Presley album – it wasn't even certain that there was any reason for a rock & roll artist to cut an album, because teenagers bought 45s, not LPs.

The second volume of Essential Elvis offers Elvis in binaural stereo from the January 1957 sessions that produced several hits. (RCA Victor generously filled the disc out with mono masters of the remaining songs to give the consumer a complete version of the sessions.) This is a lot of fun; the gaffes are numerous, obvious, and hilarious, and for ears raised on multi-track recording, it must be amazing to hear an entire record recorded live in the studio!

If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is a remarkable new album featuring classic Elvis vocal performances with brand-new orchestral accompaniment, along with a duet with Michael Bublé on Fever. An exciting revisit of Elvis’ work, ‘If I Can Dream’ focuses on the iconic artist’s unmistakable voice, emphasising the pure power of The King of Rock and Roll. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, the 14-track album features Elvis’ most dramatic original performances augmented with lush new arrangements by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. “This would be a dream come true for Elvis,” Priscilla Presley says of the project. “He would have loved to play with such a prestigious symphony orchestra. The music…the force that you feel with his voice and the orchestra is exactly what he would have done.”

You may have all of these great songs, but this album brings them all together and it makes one terrific listen. Hit after hit comes at you like a runaway train, so good to the ears and it hammers home just how fantastic Elvis' voice was and his delivery of each song, pure magic. You'll never hear these songs come at you in this way even if you played each single one after the other like this. It's so refreshing to hear great music in this way, fantastic album.

Fun in Acapulco in many ways was a very succesful soundtrack of a Presley movie for a reason apart from its original sales. The Latin feeling and its uncompromising south of the border beat seem to provide a platform of very exciting tunes, fresh either in performance either in song presentation. Even the ever considered silly tune "(There's) No Room To Rhumba In A Sports Car" holds an utterly playful performance that requires to be taken for what it really is, a happy tune.

Blue Hawaii was released in 1961 and is the soundtrack to Presley's film of the same name. It spent 20 weeks at #1 and 39 weeks in the Top 10 on the US Top Pop Albums Chart, and was certified Gold in December 1961, and 3x Platinum by 2002. It is second only to the soundtrack of West Side Story as the most successful album of the 1960s.

The Wonder of You is a sequel in the truest sense: it delivers more of the same thing that made the 2015 album If I Can Dream into a surprise hit around the globe. The gimmick behind both of the albums is taking original Elvis Presley vocal performances and setting them to brand-new orchestral arrangements from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The Wonder of You isn't as splashy as its predecessor, lacking duets with Michael Bublé and Il Volo (the bonus track, "Just Pretend," does feature Helene Fischer), and it also doesn't contain quite as many rockers as If I Can Dream.
